When plans change, God can still lead you one step at a time

When your plan falls apart, Proverbs 16:9 reminds you that God can still guide your next faithful step.

A calm devotional still life in soft morning light

Plans can change fast. A canceled opportunity, a different schedule, or news you did not expect can make you wonder whether you are falling behind. But a changed plan does not mean God has lost the way.

When plans change, God can still lead you one step at a time.

Today’s meditation material (Scripture)

Planning is wise, but your plan is not your source of security. God can work through a door that closes, a route that changes, or a slower answer than you hoped for. You do not need to see the whole path to take the next step with him.

Tiny step (≤2 minutes)

  • Take one slow breath and write down the next good step you can take today. Do that step, and leave tomorrow with God.

Prayer (optional)

  • God, when my plans change, help me trust that you are still guiding me. Show me the next faithful step and give me peace for the rest. Amen.
