A two-minute pause can keep tiredness from choosing for you

When schoolwork and messages pile up after a long day, a two-minute pause can help you choose the next faithful task instead of reacting from exhaustion.

Notebook, pencil, lamp, and backpack beside a quiet window

You get home from school, drop your backpack, and see three unfinished assignments plus a string of messages asking for replies. You are tired enough that even choosing where to begin feels like another task.

A two-minute pause can keep tiredness from choosing for you.

Today’s meditation

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Read Psalm 46:10 on Bible.com

Being still does not mean pretending your homework does not matter. It means refusing to let panic become your decision-maker. For two minutes, put both feet on the floor, set your phone face down, and breathe slowly. Pray: “God, You are here. Show me the next faithful thing.”

Then write down one task you can begin—not the whole night, just the first small action. Open the document. Find the assignment instructions. Put the first problem on paper. Let prayer make room for a clear beginning.

Tomorrow, we will look at what to do when you need help but still feel responsible for everything.
