Your words can carry grace into a tense moment
When a conversation gets tense, Colossians 4:6 shows how a small pause can help your words bring grace instead of more heat.
Sometimes one message, comment, or question can make you feel like you have to answer instantly. But you are allowed to pause. A quick pause can help you choose words that are honest without making the moment harsher.
Your words can carry grace into a tense moment.
Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt.” Read it at Bible.com.
Grace does not mean pretending nothing bothered you. It means asking God to help your words be useful, truthful, and kind. You do not have to win the exchange to honor Jesus.
Tiny step: Before you reply to one difficult message today, put your phone down for 60 seconds. Take one slow breath and pray, “Jesus, help my words bring grace.” Then answer only what needs answering.
Lord, make my words clear, gentle, and brave. Help me bring grace into tense moments today. Amen.
