You can feel nervous and still take the next brave step
Psalm 56:3 gives you a steady place to turn when nerves rise before a test, tryout, conversation, or hard day.
Your stomach can feel tight before a test, tryout, difficult conversation, or unfamiliar day. Feeling nervous does not mean you are failing. It means you are facing something that matters.
You can feel nervous and still take the next brave step.
Today’s meditation material (Scripture)
- Psalm 56:3 : “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” (read Psalm 56:3)
The psalm does not say you will never feel afraid. It gives you somewhere to turn when fear shows up. Trust can be one small decision: God, I am nervous, and I am not facing this moment alone.
Tiny step (≤2 minutes)
- Put both feet on the floor. Breathe in slowly, then pray Psalm 56:3 once. Choose the next specific step—open your notes, walk into the room, or ask one honest question—and do only that.
Prayer
Jesus, You know what makes me nervous today. Help me trust You without waiting to feel perfectly brave. Show me the next step, and stay close as I take it. Amen.
