You can stay kind when someone judges you
When someone's opinion hurts, Jesus can help you answer with kindness instead of letting anger choose your words.
Being judged can make your whole body want to fight back or disappear. Maybe someone made a comment about your clothes, your faith, your grades, or a mistake you already regret.
You can stay kind when someone judges you.
Proverbs says, “A soft answer turns away wrath” (Proverbs 15:1). A soft answer is not pretending the comment was okay. It is choosing not to hand your words over to anger. Jesus can help you be honest without becoming cruel, and calm without becoming weak.
You do not have to win the moment. You can pause, decide what is true, and answer in a way you will not wish you could take back. Sometimes kindness sounds like “That hurt,” “Please do not talk to me like that,” or simply waiting until you are ready to speak.
For the next two minutes, take one slow breath and write one kind, honest sentence you could say. Pray: “Jesus, guide my words.” Use it only if it is safe; if someone is threatening or bullying you, tell a trusted adult.
Your worth is not decided by someone else's opinion. Let Jesus choose your response.
