Jesus does not ask you to earn your rest
You are more than your productivity. Jesus invites tired hearts to come to Him and receive rest today.
Some days leave you tired before you even get home: classes, messages, practices, family expectations, and the pressure to keep up. You are not a machine, and you do not have to prove your worth by running on empty.
Jesus does not ask you to earn your rest.
Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, NIV). He does not make rest a prize for people who performed perfectly. He welcomes tired people now. Your unfinished work does not make you less loved, and pausing does not make you lazy.
Rest is one way to remember that you are a person God cares for, not a project that must constantly improve. You can do what is yours to do without carrying the impossible job of being enough for everyone.
Take two minutes: put your phone face down, breathe slowly, and tell Jesus, “I am tired. Please give me Your rest.”
Jesus, meet me in my tiredness. Help me receive Your rest without trying to earn it. Amen.
