You can do today's work for God, not applause
A short Christian meditation for teens about school pressure, motivation, and doing ordinary work for God.
Some days your work feels like it only matters if somebody grades it, likes it, or notices how hard you tried. That can make homework, practice, chores, and even helping at home feel heavier than they already are.
You can do today's work for God, not applause.
Paul writes, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
God sees the ordinary effort nobody claps for. He sees you starting the assignment, showing up to practice, doing the chore, studying for the quiz, and choosing honesty when shortcuts look easier. Your work does not have to become your identity, but it can become a quiet way to love Him.
What task today feels harder because you want someone to notice?
Tiny step: choose one small task and say before you start, "God, I am doing this with You."
God, help me work with a steady heart today. Free me from needing applause, and teach me to do ordinary things for You. Amen.
