You do not need everyone's approval to obey God
You do not need everyone's approval to obey God.
A lot of pressure comes from wanting people to get you, like you, and agree with your choices. At school, online, even with friends, it can feel scary to do what is right if it might make you look weird.
But Paul asks, "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?" (Galatians 1:10, NIV). That question cuts straight through the noise. If pleasing people becomes the main goal, obedience gets pushed to the side.
Following Jesus will not always make you look impressive. Sometimes it means staying quiet when gossip starts. Sometimes it means telling the truth when lying would be easier. Sometimes it means saying no to something everyone else treats like no big deal.
You are not called to manage everybody's opinion. You are called to be faithful.
What choice feels hard right now because you are worried about what people will think?
Tiny step: Take one minute and name one situation where you know the right next step. Then pray before you open your phone or ask anyone else for their opinion.
Prayer: Jesus, help me care more about pleasing You than impressing people. Give me courage to obey You even when it feels awkward. Make me faithful today. Amen.
