Fear can be loud without being your leader
When fear of judgment gets loud, Psalm 56:3 gives you a simple place to turn: trust God with the next small step.
Sometimes fear shows up before you even speak: What if they laugh? What if they disagree? What if you look awkward? Fear can be loud without being your leader.
Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Read it here: Psalm 56:3 (NIV)
Notice what the verse does not say. It does not say you will never feel afraid. It gives you somewhere to place your trust when fear arrives. You can feel nervous and still choose the honest answer, the kind text, the apology, or the step you know is right.
For the next minute, breathe in slowly and pray: “God, I am afraid, and I trust you with my next step.” Then name one small thing you can do without trying to control everyone’s reaction.
You do not have to make fear disappear before you follow Jesus. You only have to let trust speak next.
