God gives wisdom for the next right step
A short Christian meditation for teens on James 1:5, decision stress, and asking God for wisdom for the next right step.
You do not have to know the whole plan before you ask God for help.
Maybe you are trying to decide what to say, who to trust, what to stop doing, or how to handle something that feels bigger than you. It can be stressful when every option seems to come with a downside.
God gives wisdom for the next right step.
Today's meditation material (Scripture)
- James 1:5: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault."
This verse does not say God is annoyed when you need wisdom.
It says He gives generously. It also says He gives without finding fault. That means you do not have to clean up your confusion before you pray. You can come to God with the messy version of the question.
You might still need to talk to a parent, pastor, teacher, or trusted friend. Wisdom often includes getting help from people who love God and care about you.
But the first move can be simple: ask God.
Not for a perfect five-year plan. Not for a sign that makes every hard part disappear. Just for wisdom for the next right step.
What decision or conversation do you need to bring to God today?
Tiny step (less than 2 minutes)
Open your notes app or a blank page.
Write one sentence: "God, I need wisdom about ____."
Fill in the blank, then sit quietly for three slow breaths. Ask God to show you the next right step, not the whole road at once.
Prayer
God, thank You that You do not shame me for needing wisdom. Help me bring You the real question, listen with a humble heart, and take the next right step with You. Amen.
