Jesus gives you quiet before the noise takes over
A short teen devotional on Mark 1:35 for starting the day with Jesus before messages, pressure, and noise take over.
Your day can get loud before you even leave your room. A notification, a group chat, a test, a mood, a comment someone made yesterday -- suddenly your mind is already crowded.
Jesus gives you quiet before the noise takes over.
Mark shows Jesus doing something simple before the day got busy: "Very early in the morning... Jesus got up... and prayed."
Jesus was not hiding from people. He was starting with His Father before everybody else needed something from Him. If Jesus made room for quiet, you do not have to feel guilty for needing it too.
Ask yourself: what is the first loud thing I usually let into my mind?
For the next two minutes, put your phone face down. Sit still and say, "Jesus, meet me in the quiet." Then breathe slowly and name one thing you want to carry with Him today.
Jesus, my mind fills up fast. Help me start with You before I react to everything else. Teach me to receive Your quiet and walk into this day with You. Amen.
