God is safer than everyone's opinion
A short teen devotional on Proverbs 29:25 for when you feel trapped by what other people might think.
You can feel trapped before anyone even says anything. A look, a group chat pause, or one awkward moment can make your mind sprint into what everyone might think.
God is safer than everyone's opinion.
Proverbs says, "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe."
A snare is a trap. That is what people-pleasing can feel like: you shrink your honesty, hide your faith, or say yes when your heart knows you should pause. God is not trying to embarrass you. He is giving you a safe place to stand when opinions feel loud.
Ask yourself: whose reaction am I afraid of right now?
For the next two minutes, put your phone face down. Breathe slowly and say, "Lord, You are safer than their opinion." Then choose one honest next step: tell the truth, stay quiet instead of performing, or do the right thing without announcing it.
God, I care too much about what people think. Help me trust You when I feel watched, judged, or misunderstood. Keep me safe in Your care, and give me courage for one honest step. Amen.
