God gives mercy when you stop pretending
Pretending can feel easier than being honest.
You can act normal after saying something harsh. You can laugh it off when you know you crossed a line. You can keep moving and hope the guilty feeling fades.
God gives mercy when you stop pretending.
The Bible says, "If we confess our sins..." (1 John 1:9)
Confession is not a performance where you try to sound sorry enough. It is telling God the truth and trusting that His mercy is stronger than your mess.
For the next two minutes, open a note and write one honest sentence to God: "I need mercy for..." Then sit quietly for one slow breath before you move on.
Jesus, I am tired of pretending. Thank You for meeting me with mercy when I tell You the truth. Help me receive Your forgiveness today. Amen.
