God can help you check your heart before you react
You do not have to understand every feeling before you bring it honestly to God.
God can help you check your heart before you react.
Some moments hit fast: a weird comment, a group-chat joke, a parent question, a post that makes you feel left out. Before you know it, your thumbs are ready to answer from hurt, pride, or panic.
David prayed, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts" (Psalm 139:23, NIV). That is not a fake-perfect prayer. It is an honest one.
You do not have to understand every feeling before you bring it honestly to God. He can help you notice what is happening inside before it spills out in a way you regret.
What reaction do you need to pause before today?
Tiny step: Before you reply to one stressful message or conversation, take three slow breaths and pray, "God, search my heart before I answer."
Prayer: God, You know what is really going on in me. Search my heart today. Help me pause before I react, and lead me in a better way. Amen.
