You Can Ask for Wisdom Without Panicking
When a decision feels urgent, James 1:5 gives you permission to pause, ask God for wisdom, and take one faithful next step.
You Can Ask for Wisdom Without Panicking
You do not have to solve the whole decision in the next five minutes.
When work, relationships, or the future feel unclear, urgency can sound like wisdom. It pushes you to answer immediately, compare every option, and treat uncertainty as failure. But God invites you to slow down and ask.
James writes, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God" (James 1:5).
Notice the order: ask first. You are not required to manufacture certainty before you come to God. His wisdom may not reveal the entire route, but it can steady your next faithful choice.
One tiny step: set a two-minute timer. Name the decision in one sentence, then pray, "God, give me wisdom for the next right step." Write down the clearest faithful action that comes to mind, and do only that today.
You can move carefully without moving fearfully.
God, meet me in my uncertainty. Give me wisdom, patience, and courage for the next step You are placing in front of me. Amen.
