You Can Ask for Wisdom Before You Know What to Do

You do not have to solve your whole future today. James 1:5 invites you to ask God for wisdom and take the next faithful step.

An open journal and smooth stone in quiet morning light

You do not have to solve your whole future today. You can ask God for wisdom and take the next faithful step.

James writes, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)

Decision fatigue can make every choice feel like a verdict on your identity. Which job? Which relationship? Which city? Which next step? You may keep researching because you want certainty before you move.

But God does not shame you for needing wisdom. He welcomes the honest question. Asking Him does not mean you will receive a complete five-year plan. It means you are no longer carrying the decision alone. His wisdom can meet you in the next conversation, the next application, or the next quiet no.

You are allowed to make a faithful decision with the light you have today. Trust grows one obedient step at a time.

God, I need wisdom, and I do not want fear to make every decision for me. Give me courage to ask, patience to listen, and grace to take the next faithful step. Amen.
