You Are Known by God Before You Are Known by the World
Before your résumé, relationship status, or latest result says anything about you, Scripture reminds you that God knows you and calls you his own.
When your latest result starts to feel like a verdict on your life, pause. Your résumé, relationship status, follower count, and unfinished plans are not the deepest truth about you.
Today's meditation
God says:
“I have called you by name, you are mine.”
God does not wait for you to become impressive before he knows you. He calls you by name in the middle of becoming: while you are applying, healing, learning, waiting, and making ordinary mistakes.
That means you can work hard without asking your work to name you. You can receive attention without needing it to keep you. You can face a quiet season without calling yourself forgotten. You belong to God before the world has decided what to do with you.
One tiny step
Put one hand over your heart and say slowly: “God knows my name, and I am his.” Repeat it once before opening your phone or starting your next task.
Lord, quiet the pressure to prove myself. Help me live today from the security of being known and loved by you. Amen.
