Let your yes be honest before pressure decides for you
A faithful life does not need a pressured yes.
Let your yes be honest before pressure decides for you.
Not every opportunity is obedience. Not every request is your assignment. Not every open door needs your immediate answer.
Jesus gives a cleaner way to live: "All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'" (Matthew 5:37).
That is not permission to become cold. It is an invitation to become truthful.
Pressure loves vague answers. Fear says, "Maybe," when your spirit already knows the answer is no. People-pleasing says, "Sure," then quietly grows resentful.
Where are you using a soft yes to avoid the discomfort of an honest no?
Take two minutes. Think of one decision sitting in your messages, calendar, or mind. Pray one sentence: "Lord, make my yes truthful and my no clean."
Father, teach me to speak simply before I perform for approval. Give me courage to answer with love and honesty. Amen.
