Wisdom starts with asking God, not polling the room

You do not need every voice to weigh in before you bring the decision to God.

Wisdom starts with asking God, not polling the room

Wisdom starts with asking God, not polling the room.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. - James 1:5 (NIV)

When a decision feels heavy, it is easy to collect opinions before you pray.

You ask the group chat. You scroll for examples. You compare what people your age are doing. You look for one more thread, one more take, one more sign that will make the choice feel risk-free.

Advice can be a gift.

But it cannot replace the God who gives wisdom generously.

James does not say God rolls His eyes when you ask. He does not shame you for being unsure. He does not make you prove you should already know what to do. He invites you to ask.

That matters when you feel behind, confused, or afraid of choosing wrong.

You can bring God the real question before you outsource your peace to everyone else's reaction.

What decision have you been discussing with people more than praying over with God?

One tiny step (2 minutes): Put your phone face down, name one decision out loud, and pray: "God, I need wisdom. Give me what I do not have."

Lord, I lack wisdom more often than I admit. Thank You for receiving my questions without contempt. Quiet the noise around me, and teach me to ask You first. Amen.
