Celebrate without comparing your life to theirs
Joy for someone else does not mean God forgot you.
Celebrate without comparing your life to theirs.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. - Romans 12:15 (NIV)

Someone else gets the offer. The ring. The apartment. The answered prayer you have been quietly carrying.
You want to be happy for them. You also feel the small sting of comparison asking, “What about me?”
Romans gives you a simple way of love: rejoice with those who rejoice.
Not because your desires do not matter. Not because waiting is easy. But because another person’s joy is not proof that God has less left for you.
Their blessing is not your rejection. Their timing is not your measure. You can celebrate honestly and still bring your own longing to God.
Where has someone else’s good news started to feel like a verdict on your life?
One tiny step (2 minutes): Send one sincere sentence of encouragement to someone who recently shared good news. Then pray, “God, teach me to rejoice without comparing.”
Father, free me from measuring my life against someone else’s timeline. Help me love with a generous heart and trust You with the desires I still carry. Amen.
