Hand God the worry before it becomes your identity

You are not your anxiety; hand the weight to the God who cares for you.

Hand God the worry before it becomes your identity

Hand God the worry before it becomes your identity.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Some worries do not feel like thoughts anymore. They feel like part of your name.

You become the responsible one. The overthinking one. The one who always has a backup plan, a hidden fear, and a quiet sense that everything might fall apart if you stop holding it together.

Peter gives you a gentler command: cast it on God.

Not polish it first. Not explain why it is reasonable. Not carry it until you feel spiritual enough to let it go. Cast it on Him because He cares for you.

Your anxiety may be loud today, but it is not your identity. You belong to the God who receives what your hands were never meant to hold forever.

What worry have you started treating like part of who you are?

One tiny step (2 minutes): Open your hand, name one worry out loud, and pray: “God, I give this to You because You care for me.”

Father, I have carried some worries so long that they feel normal. Help me release what I cannot control and remember that Your care is stronger than my fear. Amen.
