Let correction make you wiser, not smaller
Correction is not proof that you are failing; it can be a doorway into wisdom.
Let correction make you wiser, not smaller.
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid. - Proverbs 12:1 (NIV)

Correction can feel louder than it really is.
One comment from a manager. One hard conversation with a friend. One moment when you realize you were wrong. Suddenly your mind tries to turn a lesson into a verdict: You are behind. You are embarrassing. You should have known better.
But Scripture gives correction a different meaning. It is not always rejection. It is often a doorway into knowledge. God can use a truthful word, even an uncomfortable one, to make you steadier, humbler, and more teachable.
You do not have to defend your image every time you are invited to grow.
Receive what is true. Release what is shame. Ask God for the courage to become wiser without becoming smaller.
Where might God be using correction to grow you this week?
One tiny step (2 minutes): Write one sentence that starts with, “I can learn from this by…” Keep it specific and kind.
