Let God teach you what today is for

You do not have to let hurry decide what matters today.

Let God teach you what today is for

Let God teach you what today is for before hurry spends it for you.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. - Psalm 90:12 (NIV)

A full calendar can make every task feel equally urgent.

Texts wait. Work waits. Family needs something. Your mind keeps running ahead, trying to protect every possible future at once.

Psalm 90 gives you a smaller, wiser prayer: teach us to number our days.

That is not a gloomy thought. It is a freeing one. Your day is limited, which means you are allowed to live it with wisdom instead of panic. You do not have to carry every need, chase every opportunity, answer every message, or prove your worth through constant motion.

God can teach you what matters today. He can help you notice the difference between faithfulness and pressure. He can give you enough wisdom for the next right yes, and enough courage for the next honest no.

Where has hurry been spending your attention before God has shaped it?

One tiny step (2 minutes): Look at your calendar or to-do list. Pray Psalm 90:12 once, then circle one thing that truly needs faithfulness today.

Lord, teach me to number my days. Give me a heart of wisdom, not a heart driven by hurry. Help me spend this day on what honors You. Amen.
