Fear is fast.
It can fill the room before you even get out of bed. One notification, one deadline, one awkward conversation ahead of you, and your mind starts building worst-case scenarios before your feet hit the floor.
Philippians 4:8 gives you a better starting point. Not denial. Not pretending hard things are easy. Truth. God calls you to direct your mind toward what is true, right, and worth holding onto.
What you dwell on will shape the atmosphere of your day. If fear gets the first word every morning, it will try to narrate everything else. But when truth gets the first word, fear does not get to lead.
Before you scroll, before you explain everything to yourself, before you rehearse what could go wrong, ask this: what is actually true in Christ right now?
One tiny step (≤2 minutes): Before you check your phone, say out loud one true thing from God’s Word, even if it is simple: “God is with me.” Then read Philippians 4:8 once, slowly.
Jesus, train my mind to return to what is true. When fear tries to take the first word, bring me back to Your presence and Your Word. Let truth shape the tone of my day. Amen.
