Pour out your heart before God

Pour out your heart before God

Pour out your heart before God.

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. — Psalm 62:8 (NIV)

Some days you can explain exactly what is wrong. Other days you just feel heavy, distracted, or emotionally maxed out.

Psalm 62 does not tell you to clean up your feelings before you come to God. It says to pour out your heart. Not edit it. Not filter it. Not make it sound spiritual.

God is not intimidated by your stress, disappointment, confusion, or sadness. He would rather hear your real heart than your polished version. He is a refuge, which means you do not have to carry everything in public strength.

If your mind feels crowded this morning, start there. Bring God the unfinished thought, the pressure you cannot name, the emotion you have been trying to outrun. Honesty is not weakness. It is one way trust begins.

One tiny step (≤2 minutes): Open a notes app or a blank page. Write one uncensored sentence that begins with, "God, here is what I am really feeling." Then read Psalm 62:8 out loud.

Jesus, thank you that I do not have to fake peace in front of You. Teach me to bring You my real heart today, and let Your refuge become more real to me than my stress. Amen.
