You can be honest with God and still be loved
You can be honest with God and still be loved.
Today’s Scripture
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
A lot of us only bring God our edited feelings. The clean version. The spiritual version. The version that sounds like we’re doing okay.
But Psalm 34:18 doesn’t say God is near to the people who have it together. It says He’s near to the brokenhearted.
God doesn’t need you to pretend. He’s not shocked by your grief, your anger, your confusion, or your tiredness.
Honesty isn’t disrespect. It’s relationship.
Tiny step (≤2 minutes)
Say one honest sentence to God right now:
“God, the truth is I feel ______.”
Then add: “Please be near to me in this.”
Short prayer
Father, I’m tired of performing. Teach me to bring You the real me. Be near to me today, and save what feels crushed in me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
