You do not have to shrink to belong with Jesus

1 Peter 2:9 reminds teens that Jesus gives them a real identity, so they do not have to shrink to fit in.

An open Bible, backpack, folded sweatshirt, notebook, and phone on a quiet school desk in soft morning light.
A calm school-day scene for belonging in Christ.

Some rooms make you feel like you need to get smaller to fit in. Quieter. Cooler. Easier to ignore.

Jesus does not ask you to shrink.

1 Peter 2:9 says, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession." Read it on Bible.com.

That means your value is not coming from the room you are in. It is coming from the God who already chose you.

Today’s meditation material (Scripture)

Tiny step (<=2 minutes)

  • Before school or your next hangout, stand still for one breath and say, "Jesus, I belong to You." Then go in without changing your voice or shrinking your smile.

Prayer (optional)

  • Jesus, help me remember who I am when I feel pressure to blend in. Thank You for choosing me and giving me a place with You. Amen.
